Diagnostic Medical Sonography – AS Degree
The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Technology program presents an integration of didactic, laboratory and clinical experiences. The program prepares students to function as entry-level diagnostic medical sonographers. Sonographers are highly skilled professionals qualified to provide patient services using diagnostic techniques under the supervision of a licensed doctor of medicine or osteopathy and assist physicians in gathering data necessary to reach diagnostic decisions.
This program will prepare students for employment as Diagnostic Medical Sonographers who act in a professional and ethical manner. Students in this program gain knowledge in general sonography, ultrasound physics and instrumentation as well as how to perform appropriate two-dimensional, Doppler and other sonographic procedures and record data for interpretation by a physician.
